Tip: How to make real CDQ copies of your CD’s

Most people refer to CDQ as 320kpbs
What you buy on iTunes is 256kbps .m4a
What you get in the store from a real CD is actually 1411kbps .aiff

If you truly want to make an exact copy of the CD’s you buy then don’t rip it to iTunes. As far as I know this works well on a Mac, no idea about a PC.

4 Simple Steps:

  1. Select all the files under Audio CD in Finder
  2. Copy + paste to any folder on your Mac
  3. Open all the files in iTunes
  4. Tag the songs properly (a pain but its worth it)

ps. You won’t really hear a difference between an iTunes version and this on your computer unless you’re using really good headphones/speakers.
